Chelsea FC: How Timo Werner Adds Attacking Prowess

It's only been a couple of days since Chelsea nicked Timo Werner, who turned 24 last March, ahead of other rivals. And we're curious as to how he fits in the puzzle.

He's already proven himself in the international stage, establishing himself as a German international since 2017. He tallied three goals and two assists, earning him the Golden Boot at that year’s Confederations Cup.

In the Bundesliga, he's been a regular for almost seven years. And became the youngest man to play 200 times in the competition.

Werner’s game is about pace in the final third, with the ability to outplay his defenders. He is a defender's nightmare in front of goal, netting 32 for Leipzig this season alone. He is an equally capable finisher with either foot, always finding himself in front and creating space for himself and others.

On top of his goal-scoring attribute, he's already provided 13 assists this season. So we know that he isn't just about scoring. He's been a consistent provider ever since the previous seasons.

Werner is one of the key players that makes RB Leipzig one of the best teams in Europe. He has helped raise their profile, contributing in games against big clubs.

While Bayern Munich has already clinched the title, you can admit that Leipzig was one of the clubs that gave them a scare this season. And they have Timo Werner to thank for that.

Frank Lampard's Chelsea is looking to bolster their attack with his addition to the team. And to be honest, with all the youth and talent in the squad, Chelsea's shaping up to be one of the contenders next season.
